- Some have confused the mother of Shadrack (b 1800), Mary Cage, withhis stepmother Martha Jones. Only a few sources have the name of awife of Shadrack (b 1760).Most of the children in this source for thiswife Martha Jones match the children shown in other sources for thewife named Mary Cage. Each list has a couple that are not on theother list.
The list for Mary Cage in some sources lacks the son named Shadrack.Some sources include Shadrack in the children for only one wife, MaryCage. Some sources seem to confuse this Shadrack with a ShadrackGreene born in Georgia in 1782.
The birth of Shadrack in the pretty commonly agreed year of 1800 isBETWEEN the births of other children definitely attributed to MaryCage. Glenda Pool is the only source I have found that reports wifenamed Martha Jones. She does not state her source or the two wives'names.
