• John H Tugman was born in Missouri to two immigrants from Ireland,Thomas Tugman and his wife Margrett (Margaret).
  
  In 1870, John is 10 years old, living with his family in Cass County,Missouri.  Both he and his father are working on the Railroad.

  Maggie, the last child, was born in 1875.  She is reported in the 1900census, where we find John's parents living in Montague County, Texas.
  
  At some time before 1875 (when John's sister Magie [Maggie] was born),they moved to Texas.
  
  In 1880 John is boarding with other people working for the railroad inTexas.  The 1880 census reports him living in a boarding house in PaloPinto County, Texas.

  John married Ella Bohannon in early 1881.  The 1900 census tells usshe was born in October 1863, while John was born in February 1861.In 1900, they are living in Montague County, Texas, in the samehousehold with John's parents and his sister Maggie.
  
  Their first child Franklin Tugman was born in May 1884.
  Then Thomas was born in January 1887.
  George was born in October 1891.
  Three children died, according to the census.
  Two other children were born later:  Fred in Feb 1896 and Lorena inJanuary 1899.

  I have not determined who the last grandchild is, Thomas Wilson.
  
  A Tugmon genealogy provides some details about John and Ella's family. This also reports that they were divorced, though the date andlocation are unknown.   Note also that Ella's birth date is reportedas 30 July 1861, over two years earlier than the dte rerported in the1900 census.
