  The 1900 census reports that Asenith's birthday was June 1872.  Buther father fled prosecution in North Carolina in 1871 and was marriedin December that year, starting a whole new life with a new family inVirginia.  So this date is puzzling. The 1880 census shows her age as8, which is still possible, since she could have been born before herfather left in 1971.  If her birthday was in June, with the censusdate being June 1, then she would not have had her 9th birthday atcensus time in 1800.  I suspect her real birth year in 1871.  Familygenealogies report her birthday to be 19 June 1871, confirming myanalysis.

  The genealogy reports that Asenith was born in North Carolina, as doesthe 1880 census.  The 1900 census says it was South Carolina.
